🏠 Household term
LiDAR navigation
A laser-based sensor some robot vacuums use to map rooms and plan efficient cleaning routes.
Why it matters
Good navigation means faster, more complete cleaning and features like room selection and no-go zones.
🇸🇬 In Singapore
LiDAR mapping is handy for multi-room HDB flats and condos, letting you clean one room at a time or block off areas such as the kitchen or a balcony.
Tips before you buy
- LiDAR works well in low light.
- Look for app mapping for multi-room homes.
- Basic navigation can be fine for small flats.
