🧴 Beauty & Grooming term

Exfoliation

Removing dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, with a scrub or with gentle acids. Overdoing it can irritate skin.

Why it matters

Gentle exfoliation can make skin look smoother, but too much is a common cause of irritation.

🇸🇬 In Singapore

Exfoliated skin can be more sensitive to the sun, which matters given Singapore’s strong year-round UV. Pair exfoliation with daily sunscreen, and stop if you notice irritation.

Tips before you buy

  • Start with once a week.
  • Avoid combining several exfoliating products.
  • Use sunscreen, as exfoliated skin can be more sensitive.
